The collection of 25 loose pages of the Quran date from 750 AD to modern times. Besides displaying the sacred pages, the Museum of Fine Art in Boston invited Muslims living in the Boston area to write about these pages giving the exhibit a personal touch.
The exhibition pairs curatorial interpretation about developments in Islamic art with personal statements by members of Boston’s Islamic communities who were invited to share their comments and reactions to the pages.
The Sacred Pages exhibition is open to the public at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, until February 23, 2014. Remember, entrance to the Museum of Fine Arts is free on Wednesday from 4pm to 9:45pm. Although the museum is open seven days a week, it will close at 4:45pm on Wednesday November 27 due to Thanksgiving and is also closed for Thanksgiving Day on Nov 28, on Christmas Day and on New Years Day.
