June 7 - A 66-year-old German man died on an Emirates flight en route from Dubai to Bangkok on Saturday. The pilot of flight number EK375 declared an emergency after the man stopped breathing. The plane landed at IGI airport at around 12.50pm, where medical crew were waiting and the man was declared dead on arrival by a local doctor.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the airline said: “EK375 Bangkok-Dubai on 5th June 2010 was diverted to New Delhi’s IGI Airport because of a medical emergency onboard. On arrival in Delhi, one of the passengers, a 66-year-old German national, was declared deceased. Emirates has co-operated fully with the airport authorities and extends its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased passenger.”
