Rezidor Hotel Group Opens 36 Hotels In 2009

Rezidor Hotel Group opened 36 hotels around the world in 2009, breaking its 2008 record when it opened 33 hotels. The new hotels in 2009 added 7,100 rooms to the markets in the Middle East, Europe, and Africa. The Raddison Blue brand was also launched in new locations in the region including Cairo, Madinah, Abu Dhabi, and Tripoli. Hytonen said “ The current Middle East pipeline has 15 properties with the development phase spread over a number of years. The current pipeline includes a further seven hotels in the UAE, four hotels in Saudi Arabia, two in Oman, one in Kuwait, and one in Qatar.”
