The hotel will be running a Moplah food festival in its Handi restaurant from 1st to the 8th December to showcase the very best of this unique cuisine for both lunch and dinner.

“Abida Rasheed is a very well-known and respected gourmet caterer and businesswoman who specialises in this style of cooking and we are very fortunate to have her demonstrate her culinary skills in Dubai” said Andreas Mueller general manager Taj Palace Hotel Dubai. “We believe this food festival is going to be extremely popular for Dubai’s large Malayalam population and for lovers of Indian cuisine looking to try something a little different”

Throughout the week Abida will be serving up popular Moplah dishes such as Neichoru, an exotic fried rice, the sweet Mutta Mala and a variety of Pathiri or rice chapatti.

“Moplah dishes are lighter than some of the other Indian cuisine because oil and heavy sauces are used in moderation. The food also has a strong Arabic influence with dishes like Alisa, a wholesome wheat and meat porridge, and stuffed chicken” said Abida Rasheed.

The special Moplah promotional menu will be served in the hotel’s Indian restaurant Handi from 12 noon to 3 pm and from 7 pm to 11 pm daily throughout the festival.

The event is being run in association with Air Arabia and The Gateway Hotels & Resorts in Kerala.
