Tunisia’s atlas launched

May 24 - "The Atlas of Tunisia's landscapes", a database of Tunisia's landscape was presented on Friday in Tunis, during a study day on "Planning and Tourism" The brainchild of the Directorate General of Land Planning, under the aegis of the Ministry of Equipment, Housing and Territory Planning, the atlas has been launched in Arabic and French, and gives an overview of the region’s landscape in great detail.…

Eight internationally renowned sites like the archaeological park of Sidi Bou Said village in Carthage, Ichkeul Park in the governorate of Bizerta, the El Djem Roman Amphitheatre and the archaeological site of Dougga are available in the database.
Talking about the atlas, Taoufik Baya, a senior planner at the ministry of Equipment, Housing and Territory Planning, said that the database will hope to support the state effort in developing tourism. A website of the atlas, he added, is also under construction and will be developed in Arabia, English and French.
