UAE hotel sector shines as always: report

May 24 - UAE’s hotel sector continues to excel with 56,187 rooms in the active pipeline, said a new report by research firm, STR Global. According to the report, there are a total of 467 hotels in the Middle East and Africa region for which 128,903 rooms are under development. According to the report, there are a total of 467 hotels in the Middle East and Africa region for which 128,903 rooms are under development. UAE has the most number of rooms (29,125 rooms), Saudi Arabia second (15,770) followed by Egypt (7,178) and Qatar (6,041).
Dubai stood first once in the region with the largest number of rooms in the total active pipeline at 32,753 and 16,539 under construction. Abu Dhabi came in second with 14,558 rooms in active pipeline and 7,849 rooms in the in construction phase.
