Opened in 1927 as Boston's Ritz-Carlton and relaunched in 2021 after a top-to-bottom restoration, The Newbury holds the city's most storied hotel address: One Newbury Street, facing the Public Garden at the luxury end of the shopping street. The renovation kept the romance - wood-burning fireplace suites remain a signature - while adding a glassed rooftop restaurant whose Garden views are among Boston's best tables (alcohol served, per mainstream norms; the view justifies a coffee visit). Rooms are polished and residential in feel. For Muslim travelers the pattern holds: no halal kitchen, minibar alcohol removable on request, no bidets, with the Common's halal carts and downtown grills a short walk east.
