The Tropicarium consists of numerous varieties of tropical plants enclosed in a giant greenhouse and displayed according to climate and natural habitats like mangroves, desert, rainforest and monsoon. On the same property there are various glass houses that exhibit other plant and flower species. It shows pictures and paintings from German artists belonging to various time periods, which depict changing traditions and cultures. It also has an extensive library of literature and historical texts. Adjacent to the museum is the Goethehaus, which was the home of the famous writer. frankfurtThis museum is an effort by the City Council to show everything related to filmmaking in Germany. The art and history of filmmaking is put on display and showed through a set of screens. This process is divided into different sets of time periods, like the modern films of the 20th century and the early classical era. Apart from this the museum holds up to 7000 film copies and collectibles belonging to the famous German film makers like Hans Richter, Lotte Reiniger and Oskar Fischinger. Since its inauguration in 1993, the museum has held an International Festival for Children’s Cinema every September.
