Overview & visitor information

The Changi Museum reproduces the many small chapels present during World War II. It reminds Singaporeans not only of the terrible past but also of heroism, sacrifice and the undefeated spirit of struggle and courage against outsiders. Moving images of fifty thousand civilians and soldiers imprisoned during that war bring them to life again through photographs and displays of their letters, drawings and personal effects. Among the remarkable artworks is a mural, now a major Singapore attraction, painted by Stanley Warren, who worked as a bombardier.
