Armenia Extends Visa Exemption for Citizens and Residents of Gulf States Until July 2027 and Strengthens Its Tourism Openness

This extension contributes to maintaining Armenia's position as one of the most accessible tourist destinations in the South Caucasus region for visitors from the Gulf area. Under this decision, eligible citizens from the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to qualifying residents in GCC countries, can continue traveling to Armenia without the need for a prior visa, provided they meet the approved nationality and residency requirements.

Under this decision, nationals of eligible countries holding a valid residence permit issued by the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United States, a European Union country, or a Schengen area country are exempt from entry visa during the period from July 1, 2026, until July 1, 2027, provided that the residence permit is valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Armenia.

Eligible travelers are permitted to stay in Armenia without a visa for up to 180 days within one year. The residence permit must be presented either as a residence card or an official sticker affixed inside the passport.
