Dubai’s Metro, Tram, buses and marine transport are integrated through the nol card. The Red Line is useful for the airport, Downtown, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Marina corridors; the Tram connects Marina and JBR; buses and water transport fill the gaps. Buy or top up nol through station machines, ticket offices or official RTA channels and check the live route before setting out.
Dubai is spread out, so public transport works best when the day is grouped by corridor. Keep modest dress and quiet carriage etiquette in mind, check accessibility and allow extra time for station walks, heat between stops and prayer breaks at malls or nearby mosques.
