April to May and September to October are usually the most balanced periods for Istanbul's historic peninsula, Bosphorus ferries, neighbourhood walks and family itineraries. June can be pleasant but busy, while July and August bring stronger heat, humidity and peak demand. Ramadan and Eid can change dining rhythms, mosque visitation patterns and evening traffic; verify dates and venue notices each year.
Winter can be atmospheric and less crowded, but rain, wind and occasional snow make ferry crossings and long outdoor queues less predictable.
