Burns RoadBurns Road, Saddar, was declared the first official food street in Karachi pretty recently, but has, from the very beginning, always been the ideal eating place for all people from all classes of society. Located right in the heart of the city center, Burns Road is a crowded two way road where you are likely to get caught in traffic because of the double parkings on either side. The restaurants along the road are packed with people at peak hours, and the roads are packed with even more cars, making it all the more difficult for anyone else to get across the road.
Founded in 1969 as a simple roadside stand, Student’s Biryani has evolved into a chain of grand restaurants, its Biryani being one of the most popular ones in Karachi. It also provides free delivery services within a limited radius.
The best Nihari around Karachi, at unbelievably low prices! The varieties include Plain Nihari, Maghaz (Brain) Nihari, Paya Nihari, and Chicken Nihari. Each dish is equally mouthwatering. The restaurant is very crowded, and it is the only eating place in Karachi that has to close early at night as all the Nihari always finishes by 10 pm at the most. If you want to have a good dining experience, reach by 8 pm or so, and you’ll be lucky to wait for only a small time for a table to be vacated. A large family hall is located upstairs.
Undoubtedly one of the best local restaurants in town. Specializes in biryani. Pretty inexpensive, single-plate biryani is Rs 40, double-plate at Rs 75. Other highlights include a 20-dish buffet dinner, barbecue, fish menus, and scrumptious desserts like kheer (cold milk and rice dish) and zarda (hot, sweet rice dish).

One of the few authentic Chinese outlets in Karachi. A bit expensive, but good value for money. Dishes include sweet and sour treats like soups, salads, sauces, dry beef dishes, spicy chicken, fried rice, and fish and prawns. Sure treat for genuine Chinese food lovers.
