"I want to thank all of those who participated in putting smiles on the faces of local children and people, and I would like to thank the Friends of Jeddah Parks group for their efforts in coordinating with the municipality to open a park in each district of Jeddah," said Jeddah Mayor Adel Fakieh.

"This park is the outcome of efforts between the public and private sectors, and I urge for more cooperation from the private sector in all community-related activities," said Rami Abu Ghazaleh, head of the Albaik food chain. The new park is named after Albaik's anti-littering campaign mascots with the same name, Nazeeh and Wartan.
