The Sharjah compliant five star all suite Tamani Hotel in Dubai Marina is flourishing during the economic downturn because of its Sharia niche. General Manager for Tamani Hotel, Muin Serhan, said “We are enjoying very healthy occupancy to the level that we don’t feel we have been affected by what’s going on around the world.” Mr. Serhan said their occupancy rate during the Eid holiday was 95 per cent and he expects about 66 per cent occupancy levels this month. STR Global figures show that occupancy levels dropped to 64.1 per cent last month from 75.5 per cent for the same month last year.
