If you wish to experience the beauty of this Red Sea resort then perhaps this is the best time to get a great bargain. Hotels have slashed their room rates by up to 75%. The 5-star deluxe Four Seasons Resort Sharm el Sheikh is currently offering a stay for two people for under $300 per night.

A travel advisory on their website confirms that they are open for business. "We are closely monitoring current events in northern Egypt. The city of Sharm El Sheikh and the South Sinai are remotely located from these and the main population centres, and the Resort continues to operate normally, including all guest and telecommunications services. International flights to and from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport (SSH) are operating as scheduled."

Tourism accounts for 11% of the GDP of Egypt and we are hopeful that as soon as the political situation stabilizes tourists will start pouring back. Meanwhile, Sharm el Sheikh is a great bargain for those willing to go in these uncertain times. The weather is a pleasant 25C and the waters of the Red Sea look inviting.
