“Six Senses is committed to sustainable practice and environmental responsibility, from our use of locally sourced water and produce, environmentally-conscious suppliers and encouragement of the reduction, reuse and recycle of consumable items within the Spa. Earth Hour is an important opportunity to generate awareness amongst our guests, hosts and the general public when it comes to committing to reducing our carbon footprint on this planet.” Six Senses Spa, Doha Director Francisca Antunes commented.

Earth Hour is a global movement in which tens of millions of people around the world come together to demonstrate their concern about climate change by turning off their lights for one hour.

Speaking of the initiative Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay General Manager Rochelle Kilgariff commented “We want to show our commitment to the environment as well as to lead the way in showing individuals and businesses how easy it is to make a difference in the fight against global warming, which is something that affects us all and our future generations.

She added “Zighy Bay is one of the region’s natural beauties that we’d like to see preserved for the local community. We’re therefore thrilled to be able to contribute to Earth Hour, to help push the environmental agenda even further, whilst creating a unique opportunity for our guests and hosts to support the cause, along with thousands of others around the world.”

Evason Ma’in Hot Springs & Six Senses Spa General Manager Manish Puri said “Six Senses core purpose is to create innovative and enlightening experiences that rejuvenate our guests’ love of SLOW LIFE. The reduction of our carbon footprint is a prime component of SLOW LIFE. We encourage all business to take part in Earth Hour 2010 and show their support for the environment. If we all contribute in any way we can, we will demonstrate together that each person can make a difference in the fight against climate change.
