UAE issues Thailand Travel Advisory

May 16 - UAE citizens have been advised to avoid travelling to Thailand till the volatile situation in Bangkok improves, said Sultan Al-Ali, head of media relations at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also said that his ministry is coordinating with the UAE Embassy in Bangkok and the operations department to maintain contact with nationals who are already in Thailand and caution them against going to areas that see disturbances.
Bangkok remained tense on Saturday after a fresh round of fighting that killed 16 people and wounded 141 troops as the army tries to isolate protestor seeking to topple the government.
