H. E. Lamia Assi also added: “We already have a vision for what the tourism and hospitality industry should look like in the short and long term. We are aiming to position Syria as a safe tourism destination with all of its historical, entertainment, leisure and business facilities. Therefore we are excited about the prospect of diversifying the hospitality industry with V. Five Continents Hospitality Group which carries its own distinctive and unique aura along with its experienced top management team. There is a need to implement standards that take the characteristics of the Syrian society into account, and we provide all the support for V. Five to take advantage of the available resources and establish a hotel chain across Syria.”
V. Five Continents Hospitality Group currently operates 3 properties in the UAE, opens 2 properties in Egypt and Kuwait in 2012, and also places emphasis on the launching of its 5 stars Palazzo properties. The Group already had successful negotiations regarding hotel management in Saudi Arabia which is the fourth country where V. Five plans to establish high-quality projects. Syria will be the fifth country to host such projects which reflects the Group’s aggressive expansion plan.
“Syria with its climate variability, green mountains, clean sandy beaches, historical monuments, cultural events as well as exhibitions is a great destination for business and leisure travelers alike. We are planning to open at least 2 properties in the next 2 years that will provide the discerning travelers with a wide range of high-quality, value for money lodging options with unique flavour and tribute to local architecture and cultural traditions. Despite the recent political situation we are positive about the future as we are investing in countries for a long term period and we see a big potential also in Syria which is still relatively undiscovered by mass tourism.“ commented Tarek Elsherif, Managing Director of V. Five Continents Hospitality Group.
