Wikivoyage is a Wikipedia-style travel-focused site operated by the Wikimedia Foundation. Like Wikipedia, the site is a collaborative effort with many writers contributing to closely monitored articles on practical information about travelling.
The site was first launched in Beta back in September 2012 and launched in full on Tuesday, January 15.
The launch of Wikivoyage will bring the site into direct competition with the heavily Wikipedia-inspired Wikitravel, which is owned by Internet Brands not the Wikimedia Foundation.
