If the forecast comes true this would be a 3 to 4 percent increase in tourist traffic in 2010 compared to the prior year. The report calls the tourism and travel industry one of the fasting growing sectors in the world attracting huge numbers of clients and providing 219 million job opportunities, or 6.7 percent of the international job market last year. This number is projected to grow to 250 million in 2010.
