Air India Express Adds More Flights To UAE

Air India Express is expanding its service with the addition of more flights between India and the UAE from 25 October 2009. The low cost carrier will take over routes currently operated by the company’s domestic carrier Air India, in order to save costs. Air India Express Chief Operating Officer PP Singh said “We operate 196 weekly flights to the Gulf and South East Asia. Now, we will take over 71 Air India flights to Sharjah, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and Colombo. Singh explained the company made the change because there is not much demand for business class in Sharjah and Dubai flights from Kerala, and AI Express can better service this route.
