DTCM said in a statement that the UK and Ireland markets combined accounted for 854,601 million visitors in 2008, 14 percent higher than the previous year. Hotel operators like Rotana have also increased their sales efforts in the UK. Naeem Darkazally, Area Director for Rotana, said “The UK is a really important year-round feeder market for Dubai, so we have increased our promotions there. Mr. Darkazally is Area Director – Sales and Marketing for Rotana Dubai and Northern Emirates.
