City overview
Health and Safety

On the whole, Auckland is pretty much a safe city to visit, and therefore one must take the normal amount of precautions when visiting the city. For example, women traveling alone should generally go out in groups (especially late at night). Overall, everyone should avoid dark side streets. There are also thieves who break into cars, so be careful and don’t leave valuables in the car. Please note the local emergency contact for all police, fire and ambulance services is 111.
