Beylerbeyi Palace served as a summer residence for Ottoman sultans and hosted foreign dignitaries in the late 19th century. Its 26 rooms display European-influenced Ottoman décor, crystal chandeliers, and Hereke carpets that remain among the finest in Turkey.

Guided tours in multiple languages move through the harem and selamlık sections, the marble bathing area, and the waterfront pavilion. The surrounding gardens include a large pool and centuries-old trees that provide shade in summer.

Muslim travelers note the palace’s role in late Ottoman court life and the presence of a small prayer room used by the imperial family. The Asian-side location offers easier parking and fewer crowds than Topkapı or Dolmabahçe.

Combine the visit with a walk along the nearby waterfront or a ferry back to Beşiktaş. The palace works well as a half-day outing when paired with Üsküdar’s historic mosques.
