Confirm the precise entrance rather than trusting a broad 'city centre' label. Properties near the railway station or airport are functional for awkward arrivals yet require repeated transfers for sightseeing.

Silk Road Samarkand is a purpose-built resort and conference district beside the rowing canal. Its branded and upscale hotels offer more controlled facilities, but the official hotel descriptions place major historic sights several kilometres away. Hilton Samarkand Regency publicly identifies restaurants and bars, so a Muslim-friendly assessment must not infer an alcohol-free environment. Ask every property directly about halal handling, prayer space, bidet or shattaf, family rooms and breakfast.

Rates change with season, major events and room type, and the complex announced an updated accommodation fee from August 2025. Compare the total including taxes and tourist fees, then book cancellable terms when event schedules are uncertain. Apartment stays can help families, but the host must handle required guest registration and provide a reliable check-in process.
