Why take this tour
Statue City Cruises is the National Park Service's authorized ferry operator for Liberty Island and Ellis Island. New York departures leave from The Battery, crossing the Upper Bay to the Statue of Liberty before continuing to Ellis Island; the standard ticket covers round-trip transport and access to the public grounds and museums.
The experience
The first island contains the Statue of Liberty Museum, whose galleries explain the monument's design, construction and changing public meaning. Ellis Island's National Museum of Immigration occupies the restored main building, where exhibitions connect personal migration records with the history of federal inspection at the port.
Before you book
Pedestal and crown access are distinct reserved products, not automatic parts of every ferry ticket. The voyage itself supplies an unfolding harbor view of Lower Manhattan, Governors Island, Brooklyn and New Jersey, while the two landings turn a sightseeing cruise into a visit to nationally administered historic sites.
