Edge is an outdoor observation deck extending from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards. Its triangular platform projects beyond the face of the tower, creating a western Manhattan viewpoint with broad sightlines over the Hudson River, Midtown, Lower Manhattan and the dense rail infrastructure below.
A section of transparent floor reveals the streets and buildings directly beneath the deck, while angled glass walls lean outward around its perimeter. These architectural elements turn height into a physical experience: the city remains visible through the surfaces separating the platform from open air rather than only beyond a conventional railing.
The indoor approach explains the construction of Hudson Yards before high-speed elevators rise to the observation level. Once outside, the geometry of the deck frames the skyline differently from the city's enclosed observatories. Its glass floor is a defined feature within a larger architectural panorama, not a separate walking course.
