Queens Botanical Garden is a 39-acre public garden in Flushing whose collections reflect both horticulture and the cultural diversity of Queens. The grounds include a bee garden, herb garden, rose garden, perennial borders, woodland areas and a fragrance walk, with seasonal changes visible across the year.
What to expect
Family programming extends beyond looking at plants. Children's Garden sessions introduce cultivation, harvesting, botanical crafts, stories and songs through age-specific activities, while other workshops connect pollinators, food plants and urban ecology. The bee garden supports that educational theme by showing the relationship between flowering plants and honeybees.

The institution began as part of the 1939–1940 New York World's Fair and later moved to its present Main Street site. Its scale is more intimate than the city's largest botanical grounds, allowing plant collections, sustainable landscape features and community programs to remain closely connected within one Queens neighborhood garden.
