Saks Fifth Avenue opened its purpose-built flagship between 49th and 50th Streets in 1924. Its limestone façade occupies an entire Fifth Avenue block opposite Rockefeller Center, making the store both a luxury-shopping address and a recognizable part of Midtown’s architectural corridor.

What you will find

The departments cover women’s and men’s designer fashion, handbags, jewellery, watches, beauty and home, with the large shoe floor operating as a destination within the building. Brand boutiques and seasonal edits change regularly, so the official floor directory is more reliable than any fixed label list.

Before you go

The Fifth Avenue Club provides personal styling in private suites, while alterations and beauty consultations support purchases that need fitting or specialist advice. Street-facing windows and the holiday light display transform the façade seasonally, even for visitors who do not enter the store.
