Why go
The Mall at Bay Plaza opened in 2014 beside the older Bay Plaza retail complex in Co-op City. Its three enclosed levels created the Bronx’s first newly built indoor mall in decades, with entrances from Baychester and Bartow avenues and large parking areas around the site.
What you will find
The tenant mix centres on clothing, shoes, jewellery, beauty, electronics, services and department-store shopping. A high atrium and broad galleries connect the levels, while the official directory distinguishes businesses inside the mall from neighbouring freestanding stores across the wider Bay Plaza complex.
Before you go
Food counters and seated restaurants are distributed through the building and exterior parcels. The Baychester Avenue subway station is not immediately beside the doors, so local buses form an important public-transport connection; drivers approach through a heavily used regional retail district in northeastern Bronx.
