Why stay here
InterContinental New York Barclay opened in 1926 at 111 East 48th Street as part of the Grand Central hotel district. A large restoration retained the Federal-style lobby, mouldings and staircase while recasting guest rooms in a restrained residential palette suited to the Midtown East setting.
The experience
Rooms and suites range from compact city accommodation to larger one-bedroom and presidential layouts. Club InterContinental adds a private lounge and food presentations for eligible reservations, while the fitness centre, business facilities and event rooms serve leisure, diplomatic and corporate stays.
Before you book
The Parlour supplies the principal restaurant and bar, with room dining and event catering completing the food operation. Neither IHG nor the hotel’s official site documents cultural-norm training or standard halal menus, so those imported claims have been removed; ingredient-specific needs require direct, recorded arrangements.
