Why stay here
The Plaza opened in 1907 at Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, its château-like exterior anchoring Grand Army Plaza. The hotel’s public rooms preserve marble, gilding and crystal associated with New York’s grand-hotel era, while entrances connect the property with Central Park and Midtown retail.
The experience
Guest rooms combine period references with modern bathrooms and technology, and suites add living rooms, dining areas or multiple bedrooms in the largest configurations. The Palm Court remains the signature interior for afternoon tea, beneath stained glass and palms, while Guerlain Spa and a fitness centre support wellness.
Before you book
The Plaza Food Hall and ground-floor shops create public activity separate from the guest floors. Fairmont does not publish a standard halal-catering guarantee, so the imported claim has been removed; specialty dietary events require a written arrangement that identifies ingredients, preparation and service rather than assumption.
