Why visit
The New York Hall of Science occupies a pavilion created for the 1964–65 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Its original Great Hall, designed by Wallace K. Harrison with faceted concrete walls and colored glass, remains the architectural core of an institution devoted to practical science learning.
What to see
More than four hundred interactive exhibits address physics, biology, mathematics, engineering and technology through direct experimentation. Connected Worlds links separate digital environments through water and resource flows, while Design Lab studios frame open-ended challenges around building, testing and revising physical solutions.
Plan your visit
The outdoor Science Playground uses large-scale structures to demonstrate balance, motion, sound and simple machines, and Rocket Park preserves spacecraft from the World's Fair era. Together, the historic pavilion and newer galleries show how exhibition design moved from monumental displays of progress toward participation, systems thinking and iterative making.
