Why families will enjoy it
Wax Hands is a separate paid experience inside Madame Tussauds New York in Times Square. Staff guide a guest's hand through a casting process that builds a hollow wax form, then finish it in a chosen color; additional colors, patterns or glitter can change the final souvenir.
What to expect
The activity is available from age five and has health restrictions related to pregnancy, heart conditions, sensitive skin and allergies. A Wax Hands ticket does not by itself include admission to the main attraction, an important distinction because the casting station sits within a much larger museum of celebrity figures and immersive sets.
Plan your visit
Madame Tussauds New York spans multiple themed floors with more than 200 wax figures. The hand cast differs from those sculpted likenesses because the guest becomes the subject and takes the object away. Its appeal lies in the direct making process as much as the finished, personalized memento.
