One World Observatory is located on floors 100 to 102 of One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Its enclosed viewing levels look across New York Harbor, the rivers, Lower Manhattan and the wider metropolitan skyline from the center of the rebuilt World Trade Center site.

What to expect

The ascent is part of the design. SkyPod elevators use floor-to-ceiling screens to compress centuries of New York's vertical growth into the ride upward, while the See Forever Theater reveals the skyline at the end of a short audiovisual sequence. Interactive displays identify landmarks visible through the windows.

Plan your visit

The observatory's perspective differs from Midtown viewpoints because the harbor, Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn waterfront and street canyons of the Financial District dominate the foreground. Its family program uses the panorama to connect geography with the city's history, placing the spectacle of height within the larger story of Lower Manhattan.
