One World Observatory crowns One World Trade Center, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, on floors 100 through 102. High-speed SkyPod elevators use floor-to-ceiling screens to compress centuries of Lower Manhattan's development into the ascent before opening into an enclosed observation complex.
The circular plan creates broad views over New York Harbor, the Hudson and East Rivers, Brooklyn, New Jersey and the dense streets immediately below. From this southern position, bridges, islands and shorelines organize the scene more strongly than Central Park, distinguishing it from Midtown observation decks.
Interactive displays identify visible landmarks and connect the panorama with stories of the people who built and inhabit the city. The observatory's location within the rebuilt World Trade Center gives the experience an unavoidable civic context, while the architecture keeps its public spaces fully behind glass at the summit of a working office tower.
